Monthly Bird Observation Walk – March

March 1 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am
Monthly Bird Observation Walk – Cedar Creek, Upper Kedron
Join keen twitchers of Kedron Brook Catchment Branch for our monthly bird walk!
Meet in Upper Kedron Road, near small playground just east of (and next to) road bridge over Cedar Creek, before Hogarth Road. We’ll start along Nelson Place parkland on north side of Upper Kedron Road, then follow bike/walkway circuit on south side, around Cedar Creek upstream of road bridge. Loop back to cars.
levels welcome—beginners to experienced birders! No registration needed, just turn up ready to spot some birds.
What to bring/wear:
– Enclosed, comfortable shoes (paths can be grassy, uneven, or muddy near creek)
– Sun-safe clothing (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, lightweight long sleeves/pants if preferred)
– Your own binoculars (essential—share if you have extras!)
– Water bottle and snacks
– Optional extras to bring camera/phone for photos, insect repellent (creek mozzies!), light rain jacket (we go ahead in light rain).
Easy to moderate flat walk along parkland, paths and creek-side habitats. Great for bush birds, honeyeaters, wrens and more in this lovely forested tributary area. Past walks here have spotted a good variety even in overcast conditions!
