BrisScience: Volunteers, data and AI – Redesigning citizen science

October 12 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Overview

Join UQ’s Dr Christopher Lawson at next BrisScience, as he unpacks promise and pitfalls of citizen science in age of AI.

Citizen science is becoming an everyday part of conservation, from tracking bird flu to collecting coral reef data.

The University of Queensland’s Dr Christopher Lawson is at changing face of citizen science. His work explores how AI and a distributed workforce can extend capacity, why volunteer ‘ask’ must match scientific requirements, and how policy makers, funders, scientists, communities and program operators can maximise impact.

You’re invited to join Dr Lawson at our next BrisScience, as he unpacks promise and pitfalls of citizen science in age of AI – exploring how everyday volunteers, powered by smart technology, are reshaping what’s possible in conservation.
