KBCB – November Monthly Bird Walk

Five keen birders enjoyed a beautiful spring morning at Bellbird Grove in South D’Aguilar National Park on Sunday 2nd November 2025.

We followed a pleasant circuit that took us past old farm dams, through open grassy parkland and along shady forest tracks beside creek. The variety of habitats produced a rewarding list of 47 species for morning.

Highlights included good views of Bell Miners (as always at Bellbird Grove!), several Variegated Fairywrens, a calling Powerful Owl heard in distance and a very cooperative Rufous Fantail that gave everyone prolonged views.

A selection of photos from walk is below.

Many thanks to small but enthusiastic group who joined us – great company and sharp eyes all round!

We look forward to having our final monthly bird walk for 2025 a special walk outside of Kedron Brook catchment for our end of year breakup – starting from Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre, just off Mount Nebo Road, close to Enoggera Reservoir, Sunday 7 December at 6:30 am.

Happy birding until next time!
